Is DeedVault really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever, no credit card required. It covers up to 3 properties and 6 active leases, and includes online rent collection, the resident portal, unlimited e-signatures, reminders, and income & expense tracking. Upgrade only if you outgrow it.
How do tenants pay rent?
Tenants pay by card or bank transfer from their private portal, with optional autopay. Money is deposited straight to your bank account, every payment is logged as income the moment it clears, and tenants pay $0 in fees.
Are the e-signatures legally binding?
Yes. Signatures are captured with an ESIGN/UETA-defensible certificate, and the executed copy is filed automatically in that property's document vault. E-sign is unlimited on every plan, with no per-document fees.
Is my information secure?
Card and bank payments are handled by Stripe and bank connections by Plaid, so DeedVault never sees card numbers or bank passwords. Every account signs in with two-factor authentication. The Security page has the details.
Do I need to install an app?
No. DeedVault runs in any browser on desktop or phone. The whole app reshapes to fit your screen, with nothing to download and no separate mobile app to keep updated.
Can I take my data with me?
Always. Full export is free on every plan, in an open format you can read anywhere. Pro adds automatic monthly backups delivered to your inbox. No lock-in, ever.
What happens when I outgrow the Free plan?
Upgrade in-app any time. Basic ($19/month) covers up to 15 properties and 30 active leases and adds bank sync and tax-ready exports; Pro ($50/month) covers up to 100 properties and 200 active leases and adds investor metrics and cash-flow reporting. Annual billing gets you 2 months free.
